Final race on final day 

Light winds on the last day of the Raceboard World Championships in Liepaja, limited the competitors to just one race to complete the 14 race series.

Toni Colomar (ESP 66) put in a great effort to win the last race,  but it would not be enough to move him past fellow Spaniard, Curro Manchon (ESP 9) and on to the podium.

Curro sealed 3rd overall with a 2nd in today's race.

Congratulations to Max Wojcik retaining the title he won last year in Germany.

Day Four

No change at the top of the rankings at the end of day 4 of racing at the 2010 Raceboard Worlds in Liepaja, Latvia.  Another great day of racing, 4 races in near perfect conditions, but no change in the current podium positions - Max Wojcik (POL 7) remains in pole position, flanked by Patrik Pollak (SVK 1) and Curro Manchon (ESP 9).

However, no one dominated today, each of the top 3 winning a race - and some other good performances from top 10 racers to mix up the finishing order. Notable performances included those from - Juozas Bernotas (LTU 14) , Toni Colomar (ESP 66) , Janis Preiss (LAT 23) and Juha Blinnikka (FIN 6).

Day Three

Day Two

Sun and good winds throughout the day ensured 4 great races were completed on day 2 of the Liepaja Raceboard World Championships.

It was also a perfect day for current world champion, Max Wojcik (POL 7) with 4 wins, and a clear lead at the top of the championship ranking. Masters Champion Patrik Pollak (SVK1) will be satisfied with his results today as he sits a comfortable second on the leader board. Two spanish riders, from opposite coasts, are in struggle to secure third position; Tony Colomar (ESP 66) from Catalonia has the edge over his national rival Curro Manchon (ESP 9) from Andalucia.

Local hero Janis Preiss (LAT 30) started the day exceptionally well with a second place in race 4, and was leading race 5 when an unforced error cost him 9 places!

Lise Matise (LAT 1) leads the womens division; and although starting and racing with the men she is consistantly finishing in the top half of the fleet.

With light winds forecast for tomorrow we could see some significant changes in the top 10.

Racing Day One

The world championship in Liepaja, Latvia, got off to a good start on day one - with 3 races completed and a championship validated.

Two good races and one race completed in very marginal conditions, were run in winds varying from 4 to 10 knots. As ever consistency won the day, with ex world champion Patrik Pollak (SVK 1) having the edge over current champion Max Wojcik (POL 7) - 2 races won by Patrik to Max's 1. However a quick run through the top 8 racers in today's ranking and it is still anyone's championship.

This year the regatta will have a series of maximum 15, shorter, races and, with a good forecast tomorrow, it may be possible to run a further 4 races . . . the ranking table could look very different tomorrow evening!

Forty two competitors, from 10 countries, have registered. Max Wojcik from Poland is here to defend his title, and he can expect a strong challenge (again) from Patrik Pollak (SVK 1), Curro Manchon (ESP 9) and Juozas Bernotas (LTU 14) - all experienced campaigners in both raceboard and olympic classes.

National formula champion, Janis Preiss (LAT 23) may offer a stern challenge despite his lack of recent experience in the class.
