FINAL RACING DAY

Another two races on the final day of the championship and despite the light winds, and not scoring a win in todays racing, EK Boonsawad (THA 30) did enough to keep his place at top of the podium. Phanuthat Ruamsap (THA 44) and Apichart Tibtubmark (THA 9) with a win each today, held on to 2nd and 3rd overall. It was a similar pattern in the Mistral One Design fleet - with Navin Singsart (THA 20) maintaining his form and rightly claiming the title. However it was a much closer affair for the remaining podium positions with 4 sailors in with a chance. Ultimately the spoils went to Seksan Knunthong (THA 10) and Natthaphong Phonoppharat (THA 1), with team members Heung Pak Sun (HKG5) and Mak Yik Kau (HKG8) finishing 4th and 5th overall. A good day for WATH and team Thailand

RACING DAY FOUR

A further 2 races were completed today in light winds.  A strong current throughout race 8 made for a longer race than usual, and as a consequence the competitors were given a rest on the beach before returning to the starting area for race 9. In the Raceboard fleet an OCS in the last race of the day drops THA 44 back into second place overall, and Ek Boonsawad once again moves into the overall lead. In the Mistral fleet another good day for Navin Singsart (THA 20) - a first and second, to keep him in pole position with 3 races to go.  But .. nothing to separate the next 3 riders, only a tie break!

RACING DAY THREE

Two races today for raceboard and MOD competitors in light, increasing to medium, wind conditions.  Ek Boonsawad (THA 30) took the win in both races, and consolidated his position leading the overall rankings in the Raceboard Fleet. Two second places for team mate Phanuthat Ruamsap (THA 44) keeps him in second place overall.  Meanwhile, in the Mistral One Design fleet only 2 points separate first and third in the rankings.  It is very close at the top, but Navin Singsart (THA 20) keeps first place overall - with THA 10 (2nd) and THA 1 swopping overnight positions.

RACING DAY TWO

Three races today for raceboard and MOD competitors in medium, increasing to strong, wind conditions.  In the first race for raceboarders Ek Boonsawad (THA 30) took the win, and despite two seconds in the next two races finishes the day top of the rankings, one point clear of team mate Phanuthat Ruamsap (THA 44). With Remi Vila forced to retire from the championship due to work commitments, Phanuthat excelled in the strong winds and took two wins in the final two races of the day. Meanwhile, in the Mistral One Design fleet 3 racers shared the spoils of victory in today's 3 races. It is very close at the top with only one point separating gold from bronze!  Navin Singsart (THA 20) moves up into first place overall - with THA 1 and THA 10 only separated by a tie break.

The Mayor of Pattaya, and President of Windsurfing Association of Thailand (WATH) Mr Ittipol Koonpluen, welcomed athletes, officials, and representatives of the sponsors, to the opening dinner.
