Organisation/Reports to ISAF/2008 2008 annual report for International Raceboard Class 2008 class membership fees were received from 19 countries, representing 3 continents.
The following championships have taken place this year:
Europeans - Sopot, Poland, August 9th to 16th. European Champion - Max Wojcik (POL)
European Youths and Masters - Civitavecchia, Italy, March 20th to 24th. Youth European Champion - Marco Baglione (ITA) Masters European Champion - Paco Wirz (ITA)
World Youths and Masters - Sopot, Poland, August 9th to 16th. Youth World Champion - Remi Ledoux (FRA) Masters World Champion – Paco Wirz (ITA)
Once again manufacturers are building longboards, with Exocet and Starboard leading the way. A new Mistral has been announced for 2009.
The hybrids have not been popular outside of the Youth fleet where the Bic Hybrid has been the dominant performer and equipment of choice.
In many countries, representing most continents, the raceboard fleet remains one of the biggest fleets at national championships; in many inland locations it remains the biggest fleet.
Paul Leone. Class President.
