World Championships 2003, Mexico - third day of activities
Posted On:  05/12/2003 16:33:10

Telchac, Yucatan, Mexico
Thursday, December 4th. 2003

The spirit is in-crescendo and the sailing fiesta continues.

Today we arrive, after the second race, to the middle of the event. Some sail numbers are writing history in the land of the Mayan.

The sun rises at 6:22 a.m. and many sailors wake up to enjoy the eye-catching panorama. Local fishermen's wood boats with canvas sails depart to do their jobs offshore. In land, excellent breakfast, warming routines, sails tunes-up and couch instructions are in the "oven".

The official watch marks 12:30 p.m. and the blast announces the start of the first race. As the past days, the wind comes from the NE turning slightly to N at 9 knts. The sky shares sun and clouds marking the 28 degrees (Celsius) with 6 miles of visibility and the barometer in 30.06 inches and steady.
