The first ever Supercup - after a year of planning "it's finally alive"!

The Supercup Series has been created to make a platform for racing between club level and continental & world championship level.  It should give a chance for kids to travel around Europe, visit new places, meet new friends, learn new things - the essential things - of the Bic Techno class.

A new wave is coming from the east this time and it is kind of symbolic that the first event of the Supercup Series took part on Domasa Lake in Slovakia, home of Patrik POLLAK (SVK-1)  www.surfclub.sk

Friday came with great sunny weather but not much wind. However, it was enough to practise for the Slovak and Hungarian Techno teams. The low pressure Saturday with no wind and occasional rain will be remembered more for pancakes and cabbage soup made the old school way on the open fire.

The Sunday forecast came true - overcast but windy.  A little trouble with the RC anchor in the windy conditions did not prevent the organiser starting start 4 races, the maximum possible according to Supercup rules; and it allowed all to show their skills in variety of conditions.

It was the first time for Roland Szlavi (HUN-280) on Domasa Lake but he showed a class of his own. Posting 4 bullets in BIC Techno 293 one design class he left the local heroes Martin Beranek (SVK-40) and Oliver Carny (SVK-77) only to fight for second place. Best girl was Karolina Berankova (SVK-11) sailing her first full Bic Techno season coming from the Optimist class. Best U15 boy was another Hungarian, Balint Morvai (HUN-3000).

In the Raceboard class, ex world champion from 2011 and father of the Supercup idea, Patrik POLLAK (SVK-1) proved that even after knee surgery he still can sail around the course . . .

This is the start of another small chapter in BIC Techno history and we all hope it will be a good one. All agreed we're gonna see each other in Lake Balaton, 5th-7th June for the second leg of the Supercup series and we all hope more people will join us.
