Raceboard Worlds - Day One Racing
    Posted On:  12/06/2012 17:39:57

At close of registration 46 competitors had registered. In addition to the strong Finnish contingent, there are competitors from 10 countries representing 4 continents, including representatives from Japan, Argentina and Australia.

2 races back to back, then a break for lunch, followed by 2 more races back to back was the order of the day.

Max Wojcik from Poland is giving reigning champion Patrik Pollak a run for his money, taking all four bullets in today's light wind races in 8-10 knots. Patrik had to settle for four second places. The 2009 and 2010 Raceboard World Champion is going to be hard to beat.

There is more of a battle between Petr Kucera in third and the three "locals" in fourth, fifth and sixth places.

Just four ladies competing - FIN 1 Tuuli Petäjä 10th overall is first woman but we also have Megumi Iseda from Japan, Anna Arosilta-Gurvis from Finland and Lissa Mcmillan from Australia.

Sea fog threatened the last race of the day but four races on day one is a very good start to what should be a very interesting championship. Windguru suggests that the wind will swing round, coming from the south by Thursday, so this really is anyone's championship at this stage and there is all to play for.

Tonight we have an opening ceremony and party at the beach.
